Python Job: Business Analyst (hands-on programming experience

We are currently seeking competent individuals to fulfill the role of Business Analyst to join our dynamic team for our client, one of the major banks.

Contract Duration: 1 year

Typical Day in Role:

• Handle multiple manual processes including contractor hiring, onboarding and vendor management – responsible for automating these tasks using Python.
• Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
• Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Candidate Requirements/Must-Have skills:
1. 2-4 years of Business Analyst experience
2. 5+ years of hands-on programming experience with Python required (scripting and automation)
3. High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and ability to deliver effective PowerPoint presentations
4. Strong process mapping and requirements gathering skills
5. High proficiency with JIRA and Confluence
6. General understanding of data models, data relationships, mapping lineage and business rules

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Banking/FI experience
• Prior experience in automation on tasks and manual processes

Soft Skills:

• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization
• Strong decision making, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a computer science or a business-related field

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Salary: $55.00-$75.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• hands-on programming experience with Python: 5 years (preferred)
• JIRA and Confluence: 3 years (preferred)
